Tianjin, Feb.19, 2019 – China General Aviation Co., Ltd. conducted a maritime emergency rescue drill at Tanggu Heliport in Binhai New Area, Tianjin. Sun Huashan, vice minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), and Yan Peng, deputy commander of the Forest Fire Department of MEM, watched the drill and conducted a field investigation on Tanggu Heliport of China General Aviation Corporation, accompanied by Jia Baojun, Chairman of CAS, Yang Xiaoming, President & CEO, and Su Longlong, Assistant president.
The drill includes three scenarios: maritime medical emergency rescue flight, rescue of trapped personnel in restricted areas, and demonstration of helicopter maneuvering characteristics. In Scenario 1, an employee of the offshore work platform was injured in an accident, and China General Aviation Corporation immediately carried out a medical emergency rescue flight. In Scenario 2, an operator is trapped in a narrow and restricted area. After assessing the terrain’s impact, the flight crew rescues the trapped person with a single-wheel landing. In Scenario 3, S76 helicopter completed performance actions such as side flight, inverted flight, and low-altitude acceleration.
China General Aviation Co. Ltd was merged into CAS in December, 2017. Its working areas cover desert, Gobi, high-latitude cold zone and sea area. By the end of 2018, it has achieved 33 years of safe working.
